El dia de los ninos/ El dia do los libros, Children’s Day/Book Day is a community-based, family literacy initiative celebrated across the country. Its goal is to link all children to books, languages and cultures.
Tru-Mah-Col AEYC in collaboration with thePublic Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County and the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library are planning a Dia Celebration for Monday, April 30, 2012 . The librarians will be in touch with Daycare/Childcare/Preschools in their area to offer a multicultural program of books, songs, fingerplays, and crafts either at the library or at their facility on that day. If you are interested in being part of this special day, please contact Nancy Stallsmith, n.pauls@sbcglobal.net.
The program was founded by Pat Mora, poet and author of books for children, teens and adults. More information about this program can be found at www.patmora.com and click on the Dia link
