The membership year shall be from January1 through December 31.
The fiscal year shall run concurrent with the membership year.
Every member of Tru-Mah-Col AEYC shall be a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Ohio Association for the Education of Young Children, and entitled to the benefits of membership in accordance with NAEYC’s categories of membership.
The right to vote and hold elective office or appointive position shall be limited to members in good standing.
Members shall adhere to the Code of Ethics of OAEYC.
The annual membership dues of Tru-Mah-Col AEYC shall be determined by the recommendation of the Membership Committee to the Governing Board for annual approval at the September Governing Board meeting.
Regular, comprehensive, regular life, comprehensive life and student memberships includes six (6) issues of Young Children magazine, voting privileges, services and benefits provided by the Tru-Mah-Col AEYC, OAEYC, Mid-West AEYC and NAEYC. Regular life and comprehensive life memberships additionally include select NAEYC books published during the membership year.
The duties and responsibilities of officers shall be such as usually pertain to these positions, and are outlined in the Tru-Mah-Col AEYC Policy Manual.
There shall be no fewer than three (3) general membership meetings per year.
Business will be completed upon the consent of a simple majority of members present.
At least two (2) months prior to the election the Nominations Committee shall present the slate to the Governing Board at its regular meeting.
The Nominations Committee shall mail the slate of nominees to the general membership no later than one (1) month before the date of the election.
Additional nominations may be proposed from the floor.
The election shall take place at a meeting of the general membership. Ballots titled, “Official Ballot of Tru-Mah-Col AEYC” shall be distributed to all members in good standing who are present.
Space for write-in candidates shall be provided on the Ballot.
Simple majority of those present will determine new officers.
